Hotel General Manager required for 4* Hotel in Sligo

Richard Lynch Consulting are recruiting a Hotel General Manager for a 4-star hotel in Sligo. As General Manager, your role is to maintain the highest standards of service and operational efficiency throughout all departments and to establish and maintain standard operating procedures throughout the hotel. You will maintain and develop staff to achieve set objectives, ensuring the sound conduct of the business with a positive management approach. The successful candidate will require extensive senior management experience in the 4-star hotel industry, ideally in the Irish market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all operational departments to maximise operational efficiency.

  • Assume full responsibility for all operational management, financial performance, and sales & marketing activity.

  • Plan and organise operations to achieve and maintain standards of consistency and uniformity, establishing the hotel as the most preferred accommodation.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Maintain good numeric, literacy, and computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Ensure knowledge of Opera Hotel Management software.

  • Work under pressure and within strict deadlines, fostering a proactive and result-oriented approach.

  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external guests.

  • Ensure effective communication structure is maintained at all times.

  • Display a professional, caring, and anticipative attitude and approach to work, colleagues, and guests.

SALES AND SERVICE DELIVERY:

  • Promote sales initiatives and maximise sales opportunities for the hotel and the company.

  • Have a complete knowledge of the hotel, its products, and services.

EMPLOYEE TRAINING, PLANNING, AND PRODUCTIVITY:

  • Maintain appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, uniforms, appearance, and posture of all employees.

  • Ensure each staff member is trained to competently complete their duties and fulfil departmental standards and guest expectations.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extensive senior management experience in the 4-star hotel industry.

  • Ideally, experience in the Irish market.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Full legal status to work in Ireland.
